hoped for better April 18, 2005 Reviewer:  bryan (alabama)  See all my reviews >

We bought this bike for ours seven year old son. When my wife brought it home the brakes on the rear were already locking up. had to back the breaks all the way back to release the wheel. Now no hand contolled breaks. Three weeks later rear sprocket bearings seize while son was riding nearly causing a wreck.

What a great bike! February 27, 2007 Reviewer:  Proud Mom with 2 Boys (Chesapeake, VA)  See all my reviews >

My 6-year old son LOVES this bike. It seems very well-built, and it has a very comfortable seat. He has been riding it for almost a year, and it is still in perfect condition. What I really like is the seat adjustability. It actually adjusts lower than many 16" bikes, making it very easy for him to adjust to the larger size tires. I would HIGHLY recommend this bike to anyone.

Same Bike, Same Problem December 22, 2004 Reviewer:  Luis (Houston, TX)  See all my reviews >

My son's bike's pedals also locked up after a week. I guess we'll have to try a different bike.

5 year old loves it November 4, 2005 Reviewer:  D. Peterson Real Name (Gainesville, GA)  See all my reviews >

We've had the bike a few weeks, and our son has been riding it daily without problems. He's tall for his age (48"), and growing fast, so we didn't want to get him an 18" that he'd quickly out-grow. This 20" model allowed the seat to be about 1" lower than the other 20" models we tried, so he can sit flat-footed. He rides it on the driveway, sidewalk and on dirt and grass trails, and hasn't had any problems.

Great Bike for a Great Price May 17, 2007 Reviewer:  D. M. Ehrlich Real Name See all my reviews >

Bought this bike for my 6 year old son. He loves it. Is a great, smooth ride and has an easily adjustable seat. It has the durability of a "Schwinn" bike and can withstand a lot of abuse. Would highly recommend especially at this price.

Disaster Waiting to happen April 16, 2006 Reviewer:  Night rider (Capitol Heights,MD, USA)  See all my reviews >

After about a month the front brakes on the bike locked and eventually came apart. "I was riding my bike when I pulled the brakes handle and the wires came off". The brake cables snapped and the bike was useless. Don't waste your money.

Same Problem as 1st review November 24, 2008 Reviewer:  GothMomInOKC (Oklahoma City)  See all my reviews >

My 7 yr old's bike did make it 1 year, but then we had the same problem as in the 1st review...an entire gear and the chain just fell off! We had thought [it] was such a good price for a name-brand bike, but, you get what you pay for I guess. Won't be buying these anymore!

Not the Schwinn they used to be February 1, 2009 Reviewer:  Practical Mom (Oviedo, FL, USA)  See all my reviews >

I purchased this bike for my son - thinking that "Schwinn" would be a good quality bike for him. He is 10, so not too big for a 20" bike. The chain started falling off regularly, and we would put it back on - until it would fall off every time he rode the bike (practically a daily basis). We are now having to spend another more price on another bike. I would NOT recommend this bike.

Don't bother buying... August 2, 2008 Reviewer:  Kris10 (Cali)  See all my reviews >

I bought this bike for my 7 yr old son 6 weeks ago. Today as he was riding, the chain fell off. After taking a closer look we discovered that the crank shaft is extremely loose. This is not good! I bought into the Schwinn name because I have one in the garage from the 1960's. I guess they don't build them like they use to.

Schwinn isn't Schwinn anymore July 27, 2008 Reviewer:  Mr. J (PG County, MD)  See all my reviews >

Schwinn was purchased by another company about 4 years ago. The quality of the name has deteriorated drastically. The ballbearings in the rear wheel make it sound like a motor bike. I can tell the eventually it will cause the rear wheel to seize up like previous reviewers have claimed. I only had the bike one day and it's going back tomorrow. If you want to buy one, maybe you can end up with mine. Good Luck!!
